Fabulously Floral

As I stroll into my work ready to start off my night shift I look towards the juniors section as I always do towards the Candies brand, which I have to muster up all my strength to not want to buy everything from that brand. Advertising there brand on well-known celebrities, they earned their spot right up front with three manikin’s showing off the brands winter wear.  A display of blacks, pinks, and reds mixed together caught my eye. I walk over to the display with time to spare before I start work and I see what I thought would only be available in the spring and I thought to myself, I must have them. What I saw that day that should also be in every woman’s winter wardrobe this year and that item is, floral pants. This trend doesn't stop just at juniors brands either, misses brands are incorporating them as well giving those who wear them a lighter mood instead of your constant dark colors that are often seen in the closet around this time. What is fun about this style is we Fashionistas get to feel elegant while still staying warm and can be paired with a solid or even printed top. "This winter is a little unconventional. Pastels and floral prints aren't what you would usually think of for this time of year, but that's what is happening right now" says Body Central's writer on Facebook. "Floral pants with outwear that has an edgy feel, like a military jacket can be a fun combination, or you could go full on famine with a ruffle cardigan and boots".   So ladies add a little bit of Spring to your winter collection, it will be here before you know it.

Keep the cold out and Wrap Fashion in

Stepping out of my apartment this morning, my black and blue plaid pea coat nestled around me I make my way to the car. As I was just about to approach the door I remembered that I had forgotten something. This combined with my pea coat would help trap in my body’s heat and keep me nice and warm as I walk through my college campus. This leads me to another must have accessory that should be in everyone’s winter wardrobe and that is scarves. When picking out a scarf, you want to follow fundamental colors which will allow you to match them with any outfit you might have. They also make a great accessory to your outfit by allowing you to not only wear them outside your winter coat, but you can also wear them with shirts and sweaters as well. You could also go a little wild if you dare so try and wear printed scarves with your shirts and sweaters that are a compliment with your shirt or sweater, not standing out too much. “The possibilities are endless with scarves” says Justine Kessler a sales associate at Forever 21. “You can tie it, tuck it, pin it, and leave it loose. I prefer to dress up in black and throw on a bright colored scarf to set off the look”. Even KENTON magazine agrees with the advantages of their use. “Scarves can be a great statement accessory in the winter, Functional too. With these multiple styles you will never get bored of your winter wardrobe and with these fashionable styles they will last you throughout the rest of the season.

Just a Pop of Color

Hello Fashionistas, the cold weather is still upon us this mid November as even somewhat warmer temperatures are fading away. Yesterday morning I was looking in my winter wardrobe to decide what to wear. I wanted to wear a knee length skirt but I needed something to cover my legs up. This is where I opened up my sock drawer and pulled out another fashion must have for this winter season. And of course as I am sure you guessed it, I pulled out tights. When planning your tights for the winter season, darker colors are in as well as muted brighter colors, depending on your outfit for the day. So ladies, we can still look classy in skirts even in the winter, and tights will pull everything together. Tights can be a very fun accessory with all its multiple colors and you don’t have to look dark and dismal in plain black tights, have fun with it. This is your chance to be creative with all the different color choices. We all know that keeping your legs warn is a must throughout the winter season, so having a pair of trendy tights can make your outfit look classy and fun. “Use tights to extend the life of your closet, fun colored tights will give you and your outfit an immediate glam boost” says Maisie Wilhelm writer for glamour’s fashion website. “When it turns cold, keep outfits cool by tucking into tights which is your first step towards a top-to-toe transformation”.

Beautifully Chic

Welcome back Fashionistas! In my latest blog I talked about the must have for winter 2012 that every woman should have in their wardrobe. But who am I kidding, if waisted coats were all that we should have than we would be frozen ice sculptures or in the hospital with ammonia. No ladies, we must do more than that to look our best. This time I have one word for you and that’s boots. Yes ladies boots are my personal favorite item to wear for the fall and winter season. But just like the waisted coat, there are many different styles of boots available. So there goes that question again, what type of boots should you invest in? The must have fall boot of the winter season is, drum roll please…pointed toe boots. A nice pair of black pointed toe boots will do the trick to have you looking fabulous when you are on the go. One of the advantages of having a black toe boot is that it looks great with anything leggings, jeans, and tights and it will bring personality to your outfit of choice without being too flashy. Another advantage to the pointed toe boot is that it never goes out of style, which makes this winter accessory a great investment. “One of our best sellers and most popular shoe for women is the Dana Buchman tall boot in black. Online it got a rating of five out of five stars. This boot has been flying off the shelves ever since it came in” explained Kristen Johnson a manager at Kohl’s. When selecting your pointed toe boot you want to make sure that you choose a boot that has a barely pointed toe. “Boots with fully pointed tips might have been popular last season” explains Kristen “but the majority of boots that come in this store have been more slightly pointed”. So ladies strut your stuff with trendy pointed toe boots, you can’t go wrong!

Looking Fabulous in Winter 2012

It's that time of year again when you pack up your tank tops, summer dresses, and shorts and dust the cobwebs off your sweaters, jeans, and winter coats. Just because the leaves are falling off the trees, doesn’t mean we need to go into hibernation till spring. We can still feel and look fabulous while showing off our own personal style. With fashion changing everyday with the changing seasons, as fashionistas it’s important to keep up with the latest trends. So as you head out to your holiday parties and brace yourself for the cold, there is a must have that every woman should have in their wardrobe and that is, and to no surprise there, a winter coat. Now ladies we all have that moment in our shopping experience where the amount of styles to choose from can make your head spin, so there lies the question, what type of jacket should you look for? Whether it’s a night on the town or cruising to the mall, a waisted coat is the perfect fit for any type of occasion. Waisted coats are perfectly designed to keep you warm while looking chic, but not giving off a bulky look. “Waisted coats are great at making you look petite, whereas classic single breasted coats with large buttons will always make you look well put together” says Antoniottomanelli Fashion Expert who has his own fashion website. Fashionistas know that you can’t go wrong with the perfect winter coat to help finish your winter style. Jeans, leggings, sweaters and skirts waisted coats, no matter what you wear, they will have you looking fab this winter season.
